Include figs in your morning routine

Figs in the morning routine came into my life around a year ago. I always have figs at home, dry or fresh. When its not a season for fresh, I am consuming dry, and I love that fruit.

I recommend to have figs in the morning after you have your two glasses of water (its important to drink water in the morning). Surprisingly, not many people know about many benefits of the figs in the morning. Actually, do we really know at all figs benefits? Or we just know that its exotic sweet fruit?! To create an image about that nectar fruit, some benefits are right away:

  1. Nutrients. Figs are a rich source of several essential nutrients including Vitamin B6, potassium, magnesia, calcium, and more.  If you include figs in the morning that will help revitalize the body with these nutrients.
  2. No to constipation!!! Figs, fresh or dried are a rich source of fibers and probiotic substrate. While dietary fibers help enhance intestinal motility and cure constipation in the short term, the probiotic substrate enrich the  flora in the large intestine, which helps promote the villi health and improves the peristaltic movements.
  3. Lower cholesterol. Figs contain Pectin, which is a soluble fiber. When fiber moves through the digestive system, it basically mops up excess clumps of cholesterol and carries them to the excretory system to be eliminated from the body. As a soluble fiber, pectin from figs also stimulates healthy bowel movements. Figs can have a laxative effect, as they are one of the most fiber-dense foods available. High amounts of fiber in your diet can benefit your overall health by preventing certain types of abdominal cancer, as well as colon cancer.
  4. Weight loss. The fiber in figs also helps to reduce weight and is often recommended for obese people. However, their high calorie count can also result in weight gain, especially when consumed with milk. A few figs are enough to get the recommended amount of nutrients, so  don’t overdo it!
  5. Prevention of coronary heart disease: Dried figs contain phenol, Omega-3 and Omega-6. These fatty acids reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Furthermore, the leaves of figs have a significant effect on the level of triglycerides in a person’s system. Fig leaves have an inhibitory effect on triglycerides, and makes the overall number of triglycerides drop. Triglycerides are another major factor behind various heart diseases.
  6. Protection against post-menopausal breast cancer. Fiber content in figs have been known to protect against breast cancer, and after menopause, the hormonal balance in women can often fluctuate. The body’s systems are so interconnected that hormones affect the immune system, which is turn affect the ability of antioxidants to fight free radicals. Free radicals are prime factors behind the development of cancer, so figs take care of one extra line of defense by providing its wealth of fiber.

They are many more benefits on figs, so we can go on and on. The most important its really good for your health!!!

How to take it?! In the morning, after you woke up and did all your washing, brushing routine, have your water and 2 dried figs (please wash them before you will eat them) or have 1-2 fresh figs. Figs are a rich source of natural simple sugars including glucose, fructose. These sugars help stabilize the blood sugar levels and provide instant energy to the body. This helps improve brain activity, promotes better cognition, and improves concentration. So, you will have enough energy to start your day, and yes dont forget to have your breakfast after))) You will also notice, that you will not eat so much)))

Precaution:  It is possible to have too much of a good thing, and eating too many figs can cause diarrhea. Furthermore, dried figs are high in sugar and can potentially cause tooth decay. And. make sure you are not allergic to it))

Oatmeal cleanser for the face

Continue on the natural way to take care of your health))) Today its about health of your face, skin… I love to experiment with the natural things, oats are my favorite!!!

From the moment I start to apply oats on my face, I stop using creams for my face, not night and not day creams, just one sun block! Its important to use in India)) About secrets of the sun block cream that dermatologist will never share with you, will be on my next post.

I threw away my creams for the face after applying the oats powder on my face, not immediately, but after 6 months)) thinking that maybe I will need them.. So, first about benefits of the oats powder:

  • Oatmeal has anti-inflammatory properties and is perfect for most skin types, even the most sensitive skin
  • Oatmeal contains saponins, a cleansing agent, and can therefore be used as a mild soap
  • Oatmeal is moisturizing and helps remove dead skin cells.
  • Oatmeal can help treat acne, eczema, rosacea and rashes
  • Oatmeal can helps relieve symptoms of aging skin

Sound good?! As result after using the oatmeal powder on your face, you will have glowing skin, no pimples, no redness, no itching. Your skin will be enough moisturized))) and your skin will be whiter, if that what you are looking for..no black dots…one word your face will look fantastic))) and this is not just for woman, guys can use as well.

What you will need? Just oats, get cheap one, no need to spend crazy money on “organic”, they are all the same!!! Grind your oats, just 3 table spoons, maybe 4. Put the oatmeal powder in the container , the one you can close. Have always a tea spoon next to it, you can get the plastic one, that what I do. You are ready to use it. However, question will arise, and I will answer right away. Why only few table spoons to grind? If water gets into your container, oatmeal will get fungus, and you dont want that fungus be on your face)) Also, fresh is always nice. 3 table spoons will be good for a week, if you are using morning and evening face wash.

How to use it? I will tell you my way, as people are different, and they use things differently. In the morning after you woke up, when you are washing your face, wet your face, put 2/3 of tea spoon of oats powder in your palm. Start to do gentle massage movements with your other hand,picking up little oatmeal powder, starting from the forehead, then cheeks, nose and after upper lip and chin, if you have something left, distribute on your neck)) When you finish, gently rinse with the water. You are ready for your day)))

If you dont feel that skin enough moisturize from the first time, you can use cream, however, you will notice that soon you will no need your creams. Your skin will glow and be very smooth.

The same procedure, before you are going to bed, of course if you want to, I do while I am taking shower. The procedure is only few minutes, so why not to make your self beautiful))

Oil Pulling with Sesame Oil

Continue on the previous topic about healthy way of life from our grand parents. Couple of days ago I started oil pulling with sesame oil. Why did I start it? Firstly, I notice that I am not that happy with my morning breath, even its not stinky, however, in the mouth is uncomfortable feeling. Secondly, lately I removed my wisdom tooth, and have a loooot of discomfort in my mouth with the gums, some pain there as well. I think even two – why, is more than enough. Doing some research I found this Ayurveda treatment to make you more healthy.

So, if you want excellent dental hygiene, then you need to add oil pulling to your daily routine. I will share my own experience here, because when I read online other people experience, I almost didnt want to do it. Now, I am glad that I am doing it. On internet you can find that you can use different oils, like coconut or even sunflower oil, however ancient time tells us use sesame oil))) you can use coconut oil))) It can be a very big commitment and definitely you will need the time to get used to oil pulling, however its the best way to take your hygiene to the next level and improve the health of your teeth and gums, and your health in general.

What is oil pulling? The process is simple, you take a tea spoon of the oil on your mouth and then swish it around in your mouth non-stop for 20 minutes. This time oil in your mouth is gathering bacteria and extracting that bacteria. After the 20 minutes is up, spit the oil better in the trash, rinse your mouth with water, and then brush your teeth, So, you do it every morning first thing when you woke up.

Benefits of Oil pulling!!! the most important part))) The main benefit is that your mouth will become much cleaner. Even after 3 days you will start to feel that, and that will push you to continue, I know what I am saying, I am there))) So, the system is designed to completely detoxify your mouth, not even one mouthwashes can do that ))) In addition to a clean mouth, you will fix your bad breath, reduce inflammation, whiten your teeth and strengthen your jaw. Another benefits are:

  • Improved respiratory health, especially for those with a history of allergies and asthma
  • Better joint health
  • Relaxed neck and jaw muscles

For your first pull you need to know what to expect. The process is tough at first mainly because you are going to use small jaw muscles that done have much endurance. Start with the 5-7 minutes first day, and till 4day, come to 20))) Its not that hard!!! I read that it will be very difficult first time, oil will make you to want to puke…. no…and again no… of course if you put in your mouth  a lot of oil maybe))) but one tea spoon you will be good. Experience!!!

You will like the changes in your mouth, the way you feel in the morning, trust me on that!!!

So, now that you know the process, its time to get started))) all you need is the oil and your desire!!!

Yoga, organic, healthy way of life or how we became all about the things!!!

Lately I am trying to go back to the times what our grandparents were doing considering health, beauty and way of life. The knowledge of those time are slowly descending to the grave. We are often see at the market word organic, does it really mean organic?! Or it just another way to full with the customers, because they are looking for something real, healthy in the market. Food, clothe, furniture, mats, tea, coffee…we can continue a very long list of organic products. Organic eggs, what does that mean for you? for me, its a free chicken walking on the fields, eating good grass without pesticides, grains without pesticides, doesn’t sit in the cage, where is not enough space. Its a free chicken!!! And I saw such chickens in India, in the villages, they are just wondering around…and they are so big, eggs are huge, they definitely bring organic meat and eggs. However, they dont come to the market)))

Yoga now spread all around the world, loosing the meaning of it. Now people who do yoga, need a fancy organic mat, organic towel, organic clothe, organic juices etc. It s just so ridiculous!!! Real yogis dont need all of that. They can do yoga on the towel, on the grass, on the rock. Travelling in India, I saw kids that were doing yoga on a peace of cloth, and they were happy, could do advance postures and meditate  a very long time. So, we all know that yoga should be for free, and if we look at the market, yoga became for people who can spend crazy amount on equipment, retreats, yoga teaching programs etc. We are forgetting real value of things. We are becoming things!! Did you see the organic mat price?! or towel? or all that fancy socks and gloves for yoga? The top or pants for yoga, the cost will be around 200 hundred dollars. Crazy! As a practitioner of yoga, I know , that if you do yoga everyday, that top and pants will not last more than 6 months!!! so, do we want to practice yoga or just look cute in our tops and pants?!

I started with the topic what our grand parents were doing to stay healthy, beautiful without all that plastic surgeries etc. and slowly I am going to it))) looks like it will be not just one post)))We want changes in the world, without being the change…
